Oasis Commitments
A key element for ensuring that OASIS is a safe refuge is that all participants commit to the following:
- Agree to maintain the anonymity and confidentiality of all members of my group.
- Agree to encourage and support the members of my group and not give them advice.
- Agree to do all I can to create an atmosphere of trust in the group.
- Agree not to use “crosstalk,” engaging in a conversation during group time that excludes others.
- Agree to respect what each person has to say without interrupting.
- Agree to keep my sharing focused on my own thoughts and feelings and not monopolize group time.
- Agree to be open and authentic with the members of my group.
- Agree to let other group members confront me in love so that I can grow.
- Agree to inform my facilitator of any physical and/or emotional problems that might affect my participation.
These commitments will help to create a safe place of authenticity – an Oasis where hearts and souls are renewed, lives are rebuilt, and relationships are restored.
