I am so excited about a new adventure and endeavor we’re taking this year for Vacation Bible School. We’re joining forces with In His Service (IHS) again and I am looking forward to all our youth helping out. Because the dates had to be changed for IHS, we have decided to meet the needs of St. Luke, the community and St. Paul’s by collaborating our efforts.
We’re going to have a combined VBS with St. Paul’s on the Earhart Rd. school campus. VBS will be 9-noon June 20-24. Please note that the preschool program will end at 11:45. If you have not been there, it is a beautiful school just north on 23 off of Geddes.
Two great opportunities that will happen as we partner with St. Paul’s are extended child care and preschool age classes. St. Paul’s offers a preschool class for VBS, to be eligible, your child must have turned 3 by last fall. For extended child care, they are offering a Lego workshop directly after VBS ends each day. There is an additional fee, but your child can stay till as late as 6 pm. Spaces are limited so contact St. Paul’s school for more information about extended child care. You can register for Bricks 4 Kidz here.
As we partner with St. Paul’s we still need your help. We need adults to help with snack and station leaders. The youth can be group leaders as they just need to chaperone 5-6 children to the stations. We will have a VBS informational meeting on Tues, May 3 at 7 pm in the lower level at St. Luke.
You can register your child using this link.
There is a fee charged for VBS this year, your child will get a free t-shirt and one music CD per family. (downloads of music are also available instead of the cd) Financial assistance is available. For more information or to volunteer, contact Janette Haak at jhaak@stlukeaa.org
