Quarterly Mission: Woman of the Pearl
Women of the Pearl is a ministry that partners with the Lutheran Church of Uganda (LCU). Its mission is to serve and point women and families in the church to Jesus. We achieve our mission through education (hygiene, nutrition, business ownership, and Scripture) and by supporting those in ministry serving the local church (like women’s ministry leaders, children’s ministry teachers, and church worker support).
As the current Quarter Mission Offering, Women of the Pearl will use funds to conduct a Children’s Ministry Conference in 2024 (November) and a Pastor’s Wives Conference in 2025.
Women of the Pearl has two longer-term visions with the LCU:
- To begin training students in the Lutheran High Schools in Uganda for evangelism. Through this training, these students who go to University will partner with local Lutheran pastors to start a campus outreach ministry. From that ministry, we hope to plant churches in urban areas!
- To construct housing at the seminary that can accommodate faculty and families. Currently, seminary students leave their families for very long periods to engage in their studies. By allowing family units to be together, we can help strengthen and grow their walk with Jesus, educate children, and train women in various disciplines (teaching, agriculture, tailoring, etc).
Thank you St Luke for your prayers and support of this ministry!
