I can do everything through Him who gives me strength. Philippians 4:13
I not only believe that Jesus is here for me; to guide me, to show me the direction I need and to encourage me to do great things, but I also have experienced Jesus doing great things in my life.
When I was just 3 years old, I had a high fever for several days. After taking a long nap one afternoon, my Mom came in to check on me and I was awake. I told her, “Mommy, Jesus came.” She asked me what I meant and I told her that, “Jesus came and reached into my belly and pulled out my fever.” When my Mom felt me, I was fever free. Even today, I know that Jesus made himself known to me at a very early age.
When I am discouraged, I know I can turn to Jesus and ask Him for help. I experience strength and courage when I turn to Him. I know that even when earthly people are not around me, I can still turn to my heavenly Father who is always there for me and I’m never alone.
My Confirmation statement challenges me to witness to others about Jesus. Sometimes it’s not easy for me as a 13 year old middle school boy to tell a friend to turn to Jesus when they need help. But this verse gives me the courage I need to step out of my comfort zone and tell them about how Jesus can help them.
This verse promises me that whatever life throws at me, the challenges, struggles or anything that brings me down, He will be there for me to give me strength.
