Joshua 1:9
“Have I not commanded you, be strong and courageous, do not be terrified, do not be discouraged, for the Lord your god will be with you wherever you go.”
I believe that Jesus Christ makes everything possible through the fact that he is with me wherever I go. For example, I like to play sports. Sports usually takes a big, strong, muscular guy to hit the ball hard, or throw the ball far, or shoot a three point shot. I am none of these. But through Jesus and his work in me, all of this is possible.
Because Jesus is with me, I know that I am safe from the devil and have nothing to fear. I know that there’s nothing that can shake me. Because Jesus died on the cross there is no devil that is too strong, and no terror that is too much for me or my walk with Jesus.
All of this is possible because of what Jesus did on the cross. The Lord gives me courage to fight for myself living out my life, and gives me strength to have no fear while living out my faith walk.
My response to terror and discouragement is knowing that God the Father is always there for me and will always be there for me so there is nothing in the entire universe that I can’t overcome.
My confirmation verse challenges me to be strong and courageous no matter what is going on. Since the Holy Spirit is with me wherever I go, there is not one thing that I can’t overcome. I believe the promises of Jesus.
