Are you looking for a way to serve? Or a way to make a difference in the lives of our church’s youth? Or just need something meaningful to do this summer? Well, we have just the thing for you!
If you’re reading this and wondering, “What is In His Service?”, you’re probably not alone. In His Service (IHS) is a week-long service event where we invite youth (grades 6th-12th) to come stay with us at St. Luke-Ann Arbor and serve our community.
They come on Sunday, July 26 and stay until Friday, July 31. We usually get an average of 75 youth participating in this event. Here is an rough example of what a day at IHS looks like:
IHS is a very impactful event for our youth at St. Luke Lutheran Church. The youth look forward to the fellowship and service for the entire year! This event requires a lot of volunteers to help make it successful.
Our largest need is chaperones and drivers for the AM and PM service projects and the midday fun event. We are also always happy to have volunteers at the church for the down time and devotional times, and if you are really brave to stay the night, that’s always a great help!
If you want to help but are still unsure, we also can use help for meal prep and clean-up.
