Writing has been a big part of my life since I was literate enough to scratch down a few simple sentences in a journal I bought at a thrift store when I was 7 years old. It has been a bit of a life-line ever since. My writing has been featured in print and online publications in addition to my personal blog. I’m excited to join the St. Luke staff as Web Content Team Leader and looking forward to expanding a team of creative writers to serve our congregation.

I was first approached to write for St. Luke in 2014 and I remember being incredibly nervous. It was one thing to write, another to write for my church. I was just a Mom with a handful of kids and an elementary-at-best grasp of Lutheran theology. I was quite sure I would get something very wrong and never live it down. What was a bit nerve wracking at first has developed into a wonderful experience. I am so grateful to the staff for giving me the opportunity to serve in an area I love so much.

St. Luke has been home to me for as long as I can remember. I was baptized here when I was 5 years old and have never been very far since. My husband Jason and I have been married 13 years and have 7 kids together. You can spot my oldest son hanging around the youth group and a kid in every other Sunday school grade right on down to the nursery.

When I’m not homeschooling, writing, chasing toddlers and trying to catch up on sleep, you can find me occasionally serving on the worship team.
