John 8:12
“I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

The verse I chose, John 8:12, spoke to me in a way no other verse did. In my faith walk, I have had my times of darkness and light.

I followed Jesus and have returned to the light. Jesus is the light of the world; pushing away the darkness.

I say this because I have had faith doubts, such as doubting the possibility of a god. Some things in life were telling me things, and my faith was saying otherwise. It was confusing and I was feeling doubtful. I got through the problems by talking it over with Pastors, but in the end, Jesus changed me and put me back on the right path and will continue to put me back on the right path.

I chose this image to go along with it because it shows a path that has a both light and dark area on the path, symbolising the part of the verse that says “whoever follows me will never walk in darkness”. As the stairway descends, it gets brighter and brighter, eventually becoming covered in a bright light. Just as light covers darkness, Jesus covers me. I can trust in him to stay with me and put me on the right path; the path of light.
