Confirmation Class of 2015

For my confirmation verse, I chose the verse Philippians 4:13:

“I can do everything through Him who gives me strength.”

I chose this verse because I’ve always pictured Jesus giving me strength to be brave when I am doubtful of myself.

When I think of this verse, I think of rhinos. Rhinos are big, strong, and courageous just like I am when the Lord helps me.

My confirmation verse reminds me of how strong and brave Jesus was to die on the cross. It challenges me to be as brave as He was and to try my hardest. This year I have faced some new situations where I have had to be strong and brave and knowing that I had the extra strength in me for believing in Jesus helped me to overcome my fears.

This was especially true when I tried out for the travel basketball team. I had never played travel, and tried out with a group of girls that had been playing together as a team for a long time. I was the newcomer, and thinking of this verse helped me to be courageous.

I believe that the Lord gives me strength when I am in tough situations. He gives me the strength to do things that I would not have been able to do without Him.
