The mission of the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League is to assist each woman of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod in affirming her relationship with the Triune God so that she is enabled to use her gifts in ministry to the people of the world.
It is with great pleasure that we introduce you to Ann Cecilia Knox as our St. Luke LWML Woman of the Year!
Cecilia currently serves as the Chairperson of the St. Luke LWML. She has been a member of St. Luke and Living Water for approximately 25 years. Cecilia credits her husband David for having brought her to faith in Jesus, and she has used her skill as a pottery artist to glorify God and share His message of salvation with others.
God has used the Knox home to minister to many Middle Easterners and their families. St. Luke helped Cecilia to launch the New Jerusalem’s Tea House and Pottery ministry, which has taught over 500 volunteers how to make pottery vases to give away at the Ann Arbor Art Fair. In 2008-2009 over 5000 pieces were distributed. Each piece is dedicated with the inscription “Holy to the Lord” based on Zechariah 14:16-20.
Cecilia’s birth name was Patricia Ann Wood; however, she was baptized as Ann Cecilia Wood. We now fondly know her has “Cecilia.” Above all, Cecilia recognizes that Jesus has called her by name and lifted her from the depths of sin by GRACE alone: God’s Riches At Christ’s Expense.
If you would like to honor Cecilia at the annual Woman of the Year Luncheon on Tuesday, March 20, please RSVP to Linda Murdock by February 18. Tickets are $24.00 and your seat is guaranteed with a check written to St. Luke Lutheran Church. Please send your check to 2020 Tibbits Court, Ann Arbor 48105.
