What Is the LWML ?

The mission of the LWML is to assist each woman of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod in affirming her relationship with the Triune God so that she is enabled to use her gifts in ministry to the people of the world. Find out more at the LWML website, and the Michigan LWML website. Check out the LWML’s introduction video.

Please visit the St. Luke LWML Facebook page. It will provide ongoing updates about the Epiphany Brunch and “what’s happening” in your St. Luke LWML.

Peace,

Upcoming Events

St. Luke LWML is raising money to support those who attend their District and National conventions each year. The goal is for women to experience “leadership in action” and be inspired to “serve the Lord with gladness” in their home congregation. This fund is lovingly called the Angel Fund in honor of Doris Delventhal, whose donated angel collection has helped raise money in the past. If you have lots of returnable bottles and cans at home, please donate refunds to the Angel Fund! Angel Fund donations can be placed in the LWML mailbox at St. Luke or sent to Lois Vogt, 5666 Winslow Court, Ypsilanti 48197. Please make checks payable to “LWML Michigan District-St. Luke Ann Arbor” and memo for Angel Fund. NOTE: If you would like to arrange for someone to pick up your bottles and cans, please contact Linda Mahler at 734.484.1391.

Mark your calendar for the morning of Saturday, September 25th, when Shepherd of the Lakes (2101 South Hacker Road, Brighton, 48114) will host a presentation about the orphans and vulnerable children who attend Point of Grace Academy in Kenya, East Africa. Registration and refreshments begin at 9:00 a.m., followed by a short devotion and announcements. Our featured speaker will share the joys of teaching the children about Jesus and let you know how you can become involved as Lutheran Women in Mission (LWML). Lunch will be provided. More details to follow or call/text Barbara Gallmeyer at (517)304-2237 or Joan Koerschen at (517)518-2043.
