John 8:12 “When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in the darkness, but will have the light of life.”
I believe that Jesus is my light, and that He will guide me through the darkness. Because Jesus is my light, I believe that I will always be able to see.
This is all possible because Jesus died on the cross to save me from my sins and death. My response to the Lord being my light is that I have more confidence when He is my light. He’s like my glasses when I’m staring at blurry page without them.
I chose this verse because when I was born I could only see light and dark. I would have been blind without the help of modern medicine, and when I was a baby I had to get corneal transplants in both of my eyes. Even though I can see now, my sight is still far from perfect. When I’m struggling to see, and feel lost, Jesus is there to help me, and he is my light. My confirmation verse challenges me to be confident in the darkness because I know that He is watching over me.
This verse promises me that anywhere I go, even in the darkest of darkness, He will always be with me, and He will always be my light in the darkness.
My picture is of a candle in the darkness, and I chose this picture because it represents how Jesus is in the darkness, like when we’re scared or very sad about something. He is a light in the darkness, and He can help when all else fails.
