Luke 18:27 Jesus replied, “What is impossible with men is possible with God.”
I chose this verse because it gives me hope. Being simply human, we can’t do anything on our own. We can’t receive forgiveness and we can’t enter the kingdom of God. If humanity was all we had to rely on we wouldn’t exist and we wouldn’t be able to get to heaven.
I trust that Christ can and will do everything for us because he cares about us. We are his sheep and he will guide us to safety. He has power over the devil, the world, and us; when all we have is our simple sinful human nature.
I know Jesus can do this because He tells us; there are so many places in the Bible where He tells us He will guide and protect us. God the Father is perfect and all-knowing and all powerful. I am so thankful for this and it fills me with hope and joy because even though He can do the impossible things He still humbled Himself and came to us and all our sinfulness to save us.
My verse reminds me to trust that the Father has power over everything whenever I feel like nothing is going right. He is always watching over me and defending me from the devil’s and the world’s temptations.
It reminds me that my worldly problems aren’t as severe as they seem because ultimately all that matters is that I stay true to my Christian faith, spread God’s Word, repent when I sin, and remain humble.
I know that God is always with me and when you have a God who can do the impossible you should rejoice and give all love, joy, and happiness to him. Rejoice in the Lord and again I say Rejoice.
