“PEACE!” It’s God’s gift to us which He expects us to share with everyone we meet.

Meeting with our Michigan District Lutheran Women In Mission July 18-20 in Kalamazoo with the theme of Peace provided inspiration as we raised our 600 voices to sing God’s praises and focused on God’s Word. We acquired information about the variety of projects funded by our district each biennium. We enjoyed entertainment from our St. Luke member, Virginia Paulson, in her clown wardrobe as Holly Lulu and the musical presentations by The Reverend Rennie Kauman, pastor at Living Word Lutheran Church in Plymouth, and his 16 year old daughter Esther with hymns and show tunes.

Our own Lynn Corker gave a compelling presentation of her ministry to the women of Uganda. You can hear Lynn share more stories and experiences with the women of Uganda at the Ann Arbor Zone LWML Conference on October 18.

Working side by side with others from our district on the service projects was fun and productive! I am always amazed by the efficient organization and meaningful fellowship of being with sisters and brothers in Christ! Peace comes as we use the gifts God gives us to know Him better and serve others.

A goal of $235,000 for 12 mission grants was chosen. Completion of those projects will be accomplished by faithful mite box contributions. Be sure you have one of the small blue and white mite boxes for your offerings available at each of our sites. As you deposit your “mites” , you are participating in providing seminary scholarships, food co-ops, pregnancy counseling, TV worship for shut-ins, Camp Concordia upgrades, mission school supplies and more!

I, Katie Renken at The Chapel, Linda Murdock at Living Water, and Carol Shaffer at St. Luke would be delighted to answer questions and share the excitement of God’s PEACE!
