On October 16, 2016, we will have the privilege of witnessing young disciples celebrating their first communion at St. Luke. Jesus will meet them and us as we respond to His invitation to take, eat, and drink. We will come forward as a community of faith and, whether it is the first time or the five hundredth time, we will join together to receive the real presence of Jesus as He gives us His own body and blood. I’m looking forward to that day, and I hope you are, too!

As you prepare to join in the celebration of First Communion across the multisite, please read Pastor Scott Giger’s blog, “Given For You… Really,” as he explains the Lutheran understanding of Lord’s Supper.

St. Luke Lutheran Church invites anyone who is baptized and in at least grade 6 to participate in our Sacraments class, Saturday, October 8 from 9:00 a.m.-Noon in Rooms 1 & 2 (basement) at St. Luke. Those unable to attend Sacraments class that day are asked to contact Pastor Matt as soon as possible. Those completing our Sacraments class are eligible to receive First Communion on Sunday, October 16, 2016. Contact Pastor Matt with questions regarding First Communion, and please register for class here.
