Quarterly Mission: The Luke Clinic
Did you know that infant mortality rates in Detroit are equivalent to that of developing nations and that maternal mortality rates are also substantially higher than elsewhere in the nation? Luke Clinic Executive Director Penny Armbruster is passionate about serving our vulnerable neighbors, and was instrumental in the start-up of The Luke clinic, which seeks to address these issues by making medical care, education, and basic supplies more accessible in Detroit so that families can thrive. During the discipleship hour on February 16th in the West Wing, she will share how the ministry provides support, encouragement, and excellent medical care in a safe and loving environment for women during their pregnancies and beyond.
