New Quarterly Mission Project- Lutheran Church Charities
For this new quarter, St. Luke’s mission project will be Lutheran Church Charities (LCC), a registered service organization of the LCMS that specializes in disaster and crisis response and is often on the frontlines of natural or manmade disasters mere hours afterward. LCC regularly trains and deploys volunteers around the country and beyond to “chainsaw, heavy equipment, debris removal, flood recovery with pumps, mucking homes…. volunteers can prepare, cook and serve meals to volunteers and affected communities while deployed.” Additionally, LCC deploys trained comfort dogs to natural or manmade disaster sites, and trains its volunteers to provide spiritual and emotional care to victims. 100% of donations go to helping those in need.
