I was 11 the first time I went to In His Service. I attend Living Water and at the time I didn’t really know anyone that went to St. Luke or The Chapel.  I was really scared but as soon as I arrived people introduced themselves.

Soon after everyone arrived I already felt much better. We had devotions which occur every night in West Wing before lights out. During devotions we sang, listened to a speaker, and prayed.

Then we signed up for projects for the week. My week included Vacation Bible School, going to Huron Woods, pulling weeds in Gallop Park, Bortz, a cement project with Byron and few other things. I love the service time because it really makes you feel that you are making a difference in the community.

I am now 15 years old and this year will be my fourth year of In His Service. Over the years we have done crazy things like go to Sky Zone. We have laughed together, worked together, and cried together. We’ve made friends and we’ve lost friends together.

My number one favorite thing done at In His Service is foot washing. The night Jesus was betrayed he washed his disciples feet. So on the last night every year the Youth Leaders wash the feet of every youth member. While the Leader is washing the persons feet every one else lays hands on the person and we pray for them. This is where the crying comes in.

My number one favorite thing done at In His Service is foot washing.

When the feet are washed and clean the person is forgiven which is so overwhelming. You really realize that Jesus is with you. This really my favorite part of In His Service because it really refreshed your faith and makes everything you have done for the last week mean something.

It is great!  I 100% recommend In His Service to everyone and even bring a friend!
