By Stephen Petzold, Confirmation Class of 2014

My Confirmation Verse is Isaiah 41:10: “Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged for I am your God. I will strengthen and help you. I will hold you up with a victorious right hand.”

I chose the verse because it encourages me when I go through tough times in my life, and lets me know God is there for me and will help me get through all my hardships.

God really is there for me, and supporting me, when I am feeling weak. When my grandmother and brother were in the hospital, I had been feeling very down, discouraged, and afraid, but God was there for me. He strengthened me, and helped me get through, by his word, the support of others, and just being there for me and the rest of my family.
So I’m standing tall, and ready to succeed because God IS supporting me.
I believe and trust that Jesus will stay with me wherever I go and will guide me to the right path. Because Jesus supports and guides me, I know, trust, and believe I don’t have to be afraid.

Because Jesus supports and guides me, I know, trust, and believe I don’t have to be afraid.

All of this is possible because God the Father promises to protect me, and God the Holy Spirit promises to guide me.

God’s offering of strength and guidance allows me to step out with confidence to face daily challenges.

My confirmation verse challenges me to be confidant, and be courageous against the world’s challenges.

This verse promises me that God is with me, God IS God, God will give me strength, and God will lead me to victory.

I believe the promises of Jesus and I will till the end.
