Theme Verse: Proverbs 28:1

Proverbs give us a way of viewing our experience. What experience does this proverb bring to mind for you?

The wicked flee though no one pursues, but the righteous are as bold as a lion.

Gospel: John 10:7-10

Jesus came in order to give full life. In and through Him, our consciences are at peace.

Focus:

Today we continue our sermon series on Proverbs, biblical wisdom that helps shape how we live as followers of Jesus. One of the themes of wisdom literature is the contrast between the wicked and the righteous, between two different results of two different kinds of living. But the “righteous” aren’t just people who do the right thing; they are people who live in a covenant relationship of grace. As we think about righteous and wicked living today, we come to see that our consciences will never rest until they rest in Christ and his righteousness. The result is boldness before God and boldness in our daily living.
