Seeking everyone’s story… sharing in His story. We’ve been living with this articulation of our mission for a while now. As we’ve done so, Jesus has been shaping our stories and bringing us into the stories of others.

Back in June 2017, we began searching for an individual to fill a full-time Youth and Family Discipleship staff position, which will help us, especially our youth and families, to be even more intentional about our journey of following Jesus as we seek people’s stories. That search resulted in a call being issued to Mrs. Jayme Nichols in May 2018 that was ultimately declined. Even though the result was not what St. Luke was hoping for, we recognize that Jesus has been shaping us, even through that declined call.

In the July 2018, the Board of Elders approved a new call committee (Pastor Rossow, Sean Egmon, Judy Hayes, Kim Mobley, Jonathan Hoover, and Rebekah Young), which has been diligently working. After receiving a new list of potential candidates from our Michigan District, the committee conducted interviews with a number of those candidates and hopes to have several come for onsite interviews in the near future. After onsite interviews are complete, the call committee will make a recommendation for next steps to the Board of Elders.

Please continue to keep this call process in your prayers. Pray for wisdom, clarity, and Jesus’ will to be done.
